Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra

Many people who are dedicated to practicing yoga understand the benefits of meditation and relaxation. Yoga Nidra is a practice to rejuvenate and relax the body and mind and release tension. Yoga Nidra means “yogic sleep” and the practitioner achieves very deep levels of relaxation and rest.

Numerous benefits of yogic sleep:

  • Relax the body and mind
  • Reduce stress
  • Reduce anxiety and depression
  • Healing the trauma
  • Mental and emotional balance
  • Improve sleep
  • Cellular rejuvenation
  • Get a complete rest
During the practice of Yoga Nidra, you will experience brain wave patterns similar to sleep states. For many, a one-hour Yoga Nidra session is equivalent to four hours of normal sleep. Each session is unique and each person will experience Yoga Nidra differently.

For this practice you will need:

  • Lay on the floor
  • Yoga mat
  • Blanket to cover yourself
  • Dark scarf, maybe a dark t-shirt to cover your eyes
  • Folded towel to rest your head on or a small cushion
  • A quiet room, without mobile phones or other disturbances
